Tap encourages children to experiment with different rhythms and tempos. Incorporated into the different levels / classes children can experience traditional tap from the classics like ‘Fred Astaire’, Fosse style, Irish ‘River dance’ style to modern up beat ‘Tap dogs’ style. The options are endless.
Our experienced Tap teachers produce a variety of styles for our annual show which often inspires our younger children.
Junior Tap classes take place in Exeter at Clyst Heath Primary School on a Saturday and Senior Tap classes take place at St. Lawrence Church Hall, Lower Hill Barton Road, Exeter on a Tuesday evening.
Examinations and medal tests are offered to children at all levels from 5 years through the International Dance Teachers Association. Most preparation for this takes place in normal lessons, but pupils may be asked to attend 3-4 coaching classes prior to examinations if necessary. Examinations are taken locally in Exeter.
